Introduction
With strong connections to leading transport and engineering companies, such as Transport for London and Thales GTS, we can provide an authentic experience for STEM exploration. We offer opportunities to meet engineers, undertake genuine engineering challenges, and gain insight into the world of work at major UK engineering organisations.
Our Inspire Engineering programme is designed around key STEM and employability events throughout the year to further enrich students’ learning. To support your planning we have flagged relevant awareness events in brackets after session dates.

Onsite Sessions
Onsite Inspire Engineering Day
Available: Wednesday 12 - Friday 21 June (National Women in Engineering Day) Monday 11 – Friday 15 November 2024 (Tomorrow’s Engineers Week)
Start time: 10:30
Duration: 4 hours & 15 mins (including lunch break)
Location: London Transport Museum Depot in Acton
Cost: £150 per 30 pupils (we can accommodate up to two groups of 30 pupils per day)
Let our skilled facilitators inspire your pupils with enquiry-based activities, interviews with engineers, and a tour of our iconic collection. The Key Stage 3 Onsite Inspire Engineering Day includes:
- Interviews with inspiring engineers.
- The chance to apply themselves to real-world engineering problems facing London in the interactive ‘Sustainable Cities’ challenge.
- Exploring the engineering wonders at the London Transport Museum Depot.
Each pupil attending receives a Discovery CREST Award.
Through the workshop pupils will:
- Develop their knowledge and understanding of engineering.
- Be inspired about future career opportunities, including engineering.
- Practice green employability skills, such as problem solving, team working and communication.

Virtual Sessions
Virtual Inspire Engineering Day

Cost: £80 per class and £20 for each additional class joining the same session (up to a maximum of four classes per workshop)
Let our skilled facilitators beam into your school and inspire you through a virtual introduction to our iconic collection at the Depot, a chance to interview a STEM Ambassador from one of our industry supporters and an enquiry-based challenge. During the session, students will:
- Interview an inspiring engineer.
- Participate in our interactive ‘Sustainable Cities’ challenge.
- Have a virtual introduction to the engineering wonders at the London Transport Museum Depot.
Through the workshop pupils will:
- Develop their knowledge and understanding of engineering.
- Be inspired about future career opportunities, including within engineering.
