Description | The Underground commissioned this poster in 1924. It was designed by Arthur Watts to promote the changing face of the network at the time. The image at the top represents Underground travel between 1890 and 1922. The image beneath depicts passengers travelling on the new standard stock introduced in 1924. Features of these new trains included air-powered doors and woollen moquette seat covers. These extra luxuries combined with the addition of more trains to the fleet greatly improved the overall passenger experience. |
