Description | Construction work at the site of Southgate Underground station, part of the northern extension of the Piccadilly line to Cockfosters. The top of a vertical shaft (indicated by an irregular line of timbers, extending from the shaft mouth) stands mid-ground centre. A rail-mounted crane stands on temporary track, extreme right (half out of shot). Lengths of timber lie foreground left. A wooden fence separates the site from the road; two rows of terrace houses with shopfronts stand in background. See U8019 -U8026. |
