Description | Diversion of cables and mains pipes at an excavation site at the junction of Hammersmith Grove and Beadon Road W6. (possibly connected with Cut and Cover under Beadon Road, Piccadilly line Western Extension through Hammersmith). Seems to be a large scale but shallow excavation, with water and sewage pipes supported on cross beams whilst work continues below. Two trams visible above surrounding hoardings, passing in the street beyond, the nearest bound for Putney High Street (route 89). The side of a nearby flat block advertises a shop in King Street, and on the other side there is an Off Licence, the side wall bearing the "Works In Connection..." sign for the site. |
