Station gardens competition 1948. The judges walking beside Relief Station Master Purbrick's garden at Colindale Underground station, which was awarded first prize in the Northern line section; the two judges in the foreground are clearly in conversation. The island platform of the station can be seen on the right, with a number of tombstone-style station name roundels.
