Built in 1863, the Tube was the first underground railway in the world. As you might have noticed, work is well under way across the whole network. We're introducing new trains, track and signalling, we're rebuilding some of the busiest stations, refurbishing others, and providing better information to customers. All this whilst keeping the service running during the week for the millions of Londoners who use it everyday. There's more to do, but we're doing everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum.
