Description | This poster is from a set of commemorative lithographs published by the Underground during the First World War. They celebrate the contribution its staff made to the war effort. At the outbreak of war, 300 London buses and 330 drivers were commandeered to help with the war effort. In this lithograph, Archibald Standish Hartrick depicts a bus driver working in London. In the border, some of the buses involved in active service can be seen carrying troops to the Western Front. |
