Twickenham is the largest Rugby union stadium in the United Kingdom. Matches there were promoted on a number of London Transport posters. However, the nearest Underground station to the grounds was Richmond, from which it was then necessary to take a bus. The Rugby League Cup Final matches, which were held at Wembley, were far more accessible and subsequently the subject of more promotional posters. In the 1950s a few posters listed London's other rugby grounds.
