From 1912 to 1937, posters advertised flying displays at Hendon Aerodrome. During this period, air shows provided a popular subject for poster artists working in the prevalent Art Deco style. Hendon Aerodrome, which closed, is now home to the RAF Museum. Air shows did not feature on London Transport posters again until the 1980s, when they were held at North Weald.
