Art of the poster label

Eckersley and Games : For over 40 years, Tom Eckersley and Abram Games were at the forefront of maintaining London Transport's reputation for outstanding graphic design. Both artists received their first commissions in the 1930s, as promising newcomers. They went on to design press advertisements, tile motifs and leaflets for London Transport, as well as over 100 posters. Both men also made outstanding contributions to government poster campaigns, especially during the Second World War, and worked for a range of commercial clients. Later, as lecturers and authors, Eckersley and Games inspired a new generation of designers. Their influence continues today.
