Biography:

The cartoonist Frank Dickens made his first contributions to Paris Match and the Sunday Times in 1960. He had no formal art training, but went on to be voted strip cartoonist of the year by The Evening Standard from 1962 to1965 and again in 1989. In 1964 he wrote a children's book, Fly Away Peter, which was illustrated by one of his idols - Ralph Steadman. Dickens's best known cartoon character is Bristow, who appeared in posters designed for London Transport in the 1980s. He also contributed to advertising campaigns for British Telecom, Haig Whisky, Peugeot and Mercedes Benz.
