Suki Dhanda is a practicing photographer, living and working in London. She regularly contributes to The Observer. Dhanda was one of eight photographers recently commissioned by the British Council, for work reflecting contemporary Muslim experiences in Britain. The results were exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery before touring internationally. In 2006, Dhanda was commissioned by Platform for Art and the Photographers' Gallery to take ten portraits of dogs and their owners. The project, exploring the common myth that dogs look like their owners, celebrated the Chinese Year of the Dog. The photographs observe the way dogs interact with their owners at home and in public spaces.
