Raul Ortega Ayala is a contemporary artist living and working in London. His artworks constitute the souvenirs of an immersive experience of his subject. His exploration of a subject or theme can take years before he has absorbed sufficient specialised information to create his work. One such project, Bureaucratic Sonata, involved thorough research and first hand experience of the corporate world. Ortega's cumulative knowledge culminated in his solo exhibition at Rokeby Gallery in 2006. He used materials including Post-it Notes, window blinds, office chairs and lamps to create three dimensional and wall based work, as well as using video, photography and light installations.
