The art of Paula Cox is about life, justice, peace and liberty. She has been influenced by numerous world cultures, particularly through music and dance. Her drawings from life capture movement and sound to translate the rhythm of dance into line and the tonal qualities of music into colour. She describes her music paintings as 'a visual response to the emotion and celebration of life in world music' Cox has travelled extensively and worked with Amnesty International. She has run community art workshops in Colombia and Palestine for victims of human rights abuse. She now has a studio in Barcelona, where she studied printmaking in the mid 1990s.
