Artist - James Marsh
James Marsh, born 1946. Designed poster for London Transport 1986
James Marsh has worked as a freelance artist, illustrator, designer and author since 1968. He ran his own London based design studio until 1976, winning much international acclaim. His work has been commissioned by The Times, British Airways, National Express, Peugeot and Royal Mail. Marsh's work often suggests the surrealist influences of Magritte and Dali. However, he maintains his earliest commercial inspiration to be 'Pushpin Artists' including Paul Davis and Milton Glaser. Marsh was a founder member of the Association of Illustrators, and has lectured in the U.S.A, Canada and the U.K. He moved from London to Kent in 2002, where recent work includes a number of abstract collages in mixed media.
