Fred Pegram (also known by the name Frederick Pegram), born 1870 in London, died 1937. Designed posters for the Underground Group 1923

Biography:

Fred Pegram was an accomplished painter and engraver. He started his career as an illustrator at the Pall Mall Gazette. In 1894 his first witty cartoon was published in Punch Magazine. He went on to contribute to the Illustrated London News, Girls Own Annual, and the Daily Chronicle. He also illustrated a number of books, including 'Poor Jack' (1897), 'At the Rising of the Moon' (1898), 'London's World Fair '(1898), 'The Orange Girl' (1899) and 'Martin Chuzzlewit' (1900).
