The Victoria Embankment, from Westminster Bridge, c1880. This shot was taken prior to the erection of Whitehall Court. There is a passenger steam boat in the foreground of the photograph which is either being boarded or disembarked by passengers. The sign on the pier displays "Greenwich & Woolwich Boats". White also notes the old floating swimming bath in the distance, by the railway bridge.
