Sketch by R Taylor of The Prince of Wales opening the City & South London Railway at Stockwell. The Prince is seen surrounded by dignitaries on the platform. Carriages ('padded cells') on the right hand side track. The left track is empty. Some men in railway uniform, others in frockcoats, carrying their hats in deference to the Prince. One woman is in attendance with the line-up beside the train.
