The junction between the Metropolitan and Great Northern Railways at King's Cross, during construction. On the left, a workman is leading a horse with his right hand, whilst carrying a lantern in his left. In the distance, another man can be seen with a plank of wood over his shoulder. Two men are in discussion by a tunnel wall, midground centre. A horse and cart are visible through the tunnel arch on the right.
