Exterior of South Kensington station, Metropolitan and District railways. Close up of the southern shopping arcade designed by George Sherrin, which gave entrance to a sub-surface ticket hall. Above each set of gates, decorative ornate wrought iron work displays station name and line signage. On each of the pillars, bronze framed poster panels, with overhead swan necked light fittings display posters. A combined lamp post and bus stop displays route no.s 30 and 45. A man stands at a news stand within the entrance to the arcade.
