Wounded soldiers waiting to board a LGOC bus converted into an ambulance on the Western Front during the First World War. It can be seen that the windows on the lower deck of the bus have been boarded up, and that similar boarding has been erected on the sides of the open upper deck. Note the parallel ruts in the snow, possibly made by the wheels of the bus, and the officer in the foreground staring at the camera.

Photographed by Underwood & Underwood, 1914-1918
