Chelsea: Cheyne Walk, the eastern end, looking east, c1862, showing the old river wall and road prior to the formation of the Chelsea Embankment. Cheyne Walk was named after Charles, Lord Viscount Cheyne, Lord of the Manor of Chelsea. The photograph shows examples of the typical types of old riverside terraces.
