High angled view of the riverside at Chelsea, looking west from the tower of the old church, c1862, showing a portion of old Battersea Bridge, and in the distance Cremorne Gardens and the Lots. The foreground of the photograph shows the rooftops of the surrounding houses, and Johnson's Coal Wharf and office. There is a detailed description of Cremore Gardens "one of the most popular of the pleasure resorts of the London of mid-Victorian days" and the acts and cost of "Old Battersea Bridge" on the reverse of this print.
