Artist's impression of the interior of South Kensington station, Metroplolitan Railway c1868, looking towards the footbridge which spans the platforms. The arched glass and iron roof and wooden platforms can clearly be seen; note how the central island platform is divided along its length by a line of metal posts. Trains are seen arriving or departing at three of the four platforms, which are busy with passengers.
