Construction work in progress at Waterloo Underground station, Jubilee line extension project. The view shows the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) in operation. Liquid concrete (also known as shotcrete) is sprayed onto the excavated tunnel wall, supported by a combination of lattice girders and wire mesh. Tunnel lining rings were applied when the ground had settled.
