Drawing showing the northern entrance to the Thames Tunnel, probably shortly after opening to pedestrians in March 1843. A number of people can be seen on the stairways or around the entrance to the tunnel. The left hand tunnel bore appears to be closed by a metal grille. The platforms of Wapping station are now located on this site.
