Stairwell entrance to King's Cross St Pancras Underground station, Piccadilly and Northern lines. The stairwell is straddled by a large sign bearing an 'UndergrounD' roundel with elongated bar, and other information, supported on an ornate metal framework in which the initials 'CSL' (City & South London Railway) are incorporated. Metal railings and gates (open in the shot) enclose the stairwell. The side of the St Pancras Station Hotel, with the roof of the trainshed behind, can be seen on the left. Some men are working on a roof, midground centre.
