The County Hall site, looking south-east from the Victoria Embankment (near Whitehall Stairs), July 1909. This photograph was taken at the time of the visit of the Fleet to London. Charles White asks us to observe the torpedo boats and vessels which became a rare sight on the Thames when Thorneycroft's moved from Chiswick to Southampton.
