Drawing of the interior of the South Eastern Railway (SER) station at Charing Cross in 1864. A train of four-wheel carriages is drawn-up at the platform on the left; more carriages and a steam locomotive can be seen on the right. The cab road from Villiers Street occupies the centre of the print, behind the balustrade. A number of well-dressed passengers are visible, as well as members of staff. The arched roof seen in this view collapsed while undergoing maintenance in December 1905, killing six men.
