View of Westminster Bridge and Westminster as seen from the Albert Embankment in 1923, showing New Scotland Yard (Norman Shaw). The right-hand (north) block was erected in 1890, and the south block in 1902. The LCC tramways were laid down across the bridge in 1906. White refers to a quotation from Professor Beresford Pite on the architectural and locational aspects of the New Scotland Yard building. The view is a long shot over Westminster Bridge with the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben clock tower in the distance. There are pedestrians and examples of trams on the bridge.
