Metropolitan line station gardens competition 1938. The judges, accompanied by Station Foreman A Ranells (on left) examining one of the flower beds in the forecourt of Stanmore Underground station (now Jubilee line), to which they awarded a first prize of £5. Ivy-covered posts and chains surround the flower bed. The station building, with dormer windows and integral shops, can be seen in the background. A separate building stands to the right of the station.
