Earls Court Underground station, District line. Platform view looking west towards the Warwick Road exit. Work is in progress laying new concrete on the eastbound island platform. A train of flatbed wagons, pulled by a diesel locomotive, stands adjacent to the platform. Teams of workmen offload concrete from the wagons. (Following electrification the Board of Trade required that wooden platforms be replaced with less flammable material. The work at Earls Court is probably part of that replacement programme).
