Metropolitan line station gardens competition 1940. The judges viewing the platform garden at Ruislip Underground station, cultivated by Porter F Cooke, which was awarded a third prize of £1. Colonel Forrester Clayton can be seen nearest to camera, with Mr Evan Evans, carrying a gas mask case in his right hand, behind and to his left and Mr T E Thomas at the rear. Note concrete fence.
