LT Chairman Lord Ashfield inspecting members of the recently formed LT Home Guard (then known as the Local Defence Volunteers) at Osterley in the summer of 1940; he has a LDV armband on his right arm. The three men in white dustcoats are bus drivers; it can be seen that two of them are wearing an impressive array of medals, as is the man immediately behind Lord Ashfield.
