The Metropolitan's Deputy Chairman Sir Clarendon Hyde is standing just to the left of the entrance, whilst in the foreground the Minister of Transport Mr P J Pybus CBE, MP is talking to one of the directors Mr Albert I Belisha; another director, the Rt Hon Earl of Cromer PC, can be seen on the far right. A member of staff, possibly the station master, stands respectfully by a poster panel containing a map of "Metropolitan Railway and Connections". Note the steel and glass canopy, with back-lit fretted steel fascia lettering.
