Nearside view of 2-6-4 Metropolitan K-class locomotive (built in 1925). This type of locomotive was the last and most powerful of those constructed for the Met. They were employed almost wholly in hauling heavy freight trains north of Finchley Road and owing to their size were banned from working in tunnel in central London.
