Construction work on the platform at Loughton station on the Central line eastern extension. The platform canopy has been erected, and one of the metal cowl lights is in place. The metal framework for an illuminated sign is suspended from the canopy; some of the electrical cabling is also evident. The stairs to the booking hall are under construction, and further along the platform, workmen can be seen in a glass-fronted area which will eventually be the waiting room. Two more men are standing at track level to the left of the platform; builder's materials and scaffolding are visible beyond them.
