Kensington High Street, the north side of the eastern end, looking west, as it was prior to the widening and reconstruction of 1900. This is a street scene, showing a row of premises along the right side of the street including a wine and spirit merchant (Messrs Blater), Cole & Sons, coach builders, and a steam printers. In the foreground of the shot is a street sweeper; behind him there is a variety of horse-drawn traffic, including a garden seat horse bus.
