Stairwell entrance to Chancery Lane station, located at the junction of Holborn and Gray's Inn Road. The stairwell is enclosed by a bronze balustrade on a granite base, and is straddled by an 'UndergrounD' roundel on metal supports. Two station name plates in a bronze band are situated below the top rail of the balustrade. A second stairwell stands on the opposite corner of Gray's Inn Road, background left. A number of buses can be seen amid the road traffic. The half-timbered building on the right (partly hidden by scaffolding) is Staple Inn.
