20th Century London caption: Unfinished shops flank Westminster Bank opposite Hendon Central station along Vivian Avenue. These shops and businesses are being built as a direct result of the Northern line's coming to Hendon. The station opened in 1923. Hendon Central station was the temporary terminus of the line until it was extended to Edgware in 1924.
