Westminster and the River, looking north-east from the roof of Henry VII's Chapel, c1865. Big Ben's clock tower is to the right of the shot, with the dome of St Paul's Cathedral in the distance beyond. Also visible are the Courts of Justice; on the left is Parliament Square which was fringed by trees which White notes were removed when the statues of Premiers were erected. He also observes the roof of Charing Cross Station, in the course of completion, and the Embankment then under construction, to the right of the shot.
