The Thames Embankment, looking east from Waterloo Bridge. A long view looking down the Embankment, with the River Thames to the right of the shot and a row of buildings to the left. White notes that this view shows the Norfolk Hotel and blocks of offices on the former site of Gwynne works, behind the Temple station and London School Board building. He also mentions the Middle Temple Library and the City of London School. The Embankment is lined with trees either side; there is little traffic. White notes the training ship "Buzzard" near Temple Stairs, and the statue of Brunel.
