High Street Kensington station during construction. The arched roof is finished, and the glass seems to have been installed; part of the wooden frame upon which the roof was erected still stands, left/centre, but on the right it appears to have been dismantled. The brick retaining walls are also completed, whilst a single line of track can be seen on the left of the shot. The contractor's men are posed for the photographer; the gentlemen in top hat and long coat, foreground right, may possibly be the contractor himself.

Unknown photographer, circa 1868
