20th Century London caption: A Metropolitan Electric Tramways A.-type tram on service in North End, Finchley, heads towards Barnet. This area is now known as North Finchley. This tram service provided a way for ordinary people to travel to London, for work or for leisure, but also led to North Finchley becoming a shopping destination in its own right.
