Portrait of Sir Benjamin Baker. Photograph taken from an oil painting showing the subject in three-quarter view. Baker was an engineer, chief assistant to John Fowler on the District line extension (Westminster to Mansion House) and a consultant with him on the C&SLR. Baker was also connected with the construction of other tube lines.
