Illustrated ticket or invitation card for the opening on December 14, 1836 of the London & Greenwich Railway. The top half of the ticket is decorated with an illustration depicting the railway viaduct crossing the Surrey Canal. Three coats of arms surround the central text. A wax seal (stamped with the railway's coat of arms) is visible on the bottom left corner.
