Artist's impression of a locomotive, tender and carriage on Prosser's experimental wooden flangeless railway; note the guide wheels at an angle of 45 degrees to the horizontal at the front and rear of each vehicle. This system was tested on a circular track on Wimbledon Common in 1845.
