Sample image from Decade - 1990s photoThe 1990s saw further decentralisation of services, including the privatisation of bus companies and the introduction of competitive tendering. A new tram service opened between Wimbledon and Croydon, and the Docklands Light Railway was upgraded and expanded. The major project of the decade was the extension of the Jubilee line east to Stratford, opening in time for the New Year celebrations at the Millennium Dome at North Greenwich.
