Presentation ink stand from Aldersgate station, Metropolitan Railway, April 1897

Bombing souvenir : This presentation inkstand was made from the wreckage of the first-class Metropolitan Railway carriage in which a fatal bomb exploded at Aldersgate on 26 April 1897. The bomber was never identified. Carriage number 93 was fully repaired and returned to service.
