O gauge models of 1938 tube stock, driving car and trailer, made c1938

Fit for purpose : Frank Pick put good design at the heart of London’s transport operations. He believed that every product, communication and environment should reflect an organization that was modern, progressive and socially responsible. He commissioned widely and became a visionary yet practical patron of the arts.

By coordinating the work of hundreds of designers, artists, architects, engineers and production suppliers, Pick created a unique identity for London Transport. These examples show the range and variety of that design work.
